Child Watabaran Center Nepal
Tirtha Raj Rasaili, a radio reporter in Nepal, saw the awful conditions of the street children and he was convinced that there was a way of helping them turning their live into a positive direction. With the help of friends he founded the Child Watabaran Center Nepal (CWCN) in 2002 providing a home, family support and education to street children.

Currently 40 street children have found a home in CWCN, divided over 3 rented houses. There are 19 boys in the boys home, 13 girls in the girls home, and 8 boys in the youth home (older than 18 years). The CWCN also runs a Mobile Health Service. A team with peer educators – once street children but taken up by CWCN they have given their live a different direction – goes out onto the street and offers street children basic health care and health education. At least 300 street children a year get first aid health care.

Transit Clinic
Next to this a Transit Clinic was opened recently, that offers medical treatment for street children from a fixed location, 24/7. The Transit Clinic is located near the slum areas in Kathmandu. It is expected to service 1,000 children per year.
